20:02 behind that metal door, they store the old jungle gym/playground. It is a small room, totally intact playground. Lots of memories from my childhood. I went in there once, but they've since locked it from the inside

Did they find a way to get into the old original movie theater, General Cinema 5 which down from the new theater that was built. wonder if that service hall on the left from the entrance of the new theater could take you to the old theater.

@@soullessprincess6473 I know it would be so interesting to explore and check how it is now sitting abandoned for almost 30 years. I wonder if everything is still intact. It is probably way more moldy and have to wear a respirator now. See a place frozen in the 90s. I wish someone had pictures of that old theater back then or even now.

    • @nationdecay

I don’t believe it’s in tact anymore. I’m pretty sure that entire section of the building was demolished but I’m not sure. There was a large area covered by drywall but I didn’t realize the possibility that it could be back there at the time.

The purpose of this was a parody of the dead mall series intro, you’ll notice I threw in a clip of Dan waving. This video was shot very shoddy and quick and not meant to be anything professional. Several of my intros are direct ripped for inspiration from Dan namely the mall videos. I’ve been doing this for years, from way back when me and Dan still regularly hung out with each other

UPDATE : First they didn't have less than 5 days, they had less than 6 months to move out (lease was expired). The base closed in 1998 and was open and rented out to 88 families under short term leases. The familes did get a pention out and try to stop it unfortunately to no avail, last family left in Dec 2017. The company who bought it out to turn the lans in condominiums fall through. In 2021 it was then bought by a private investor who is known to have done quite well in turning around formal military hosuing. Also side note, rule of thumb to any urban explorer - take only memories, leave only footprints 11:18

I used to work there as a front desk clerk (Sep 2006-May 2007), and it was a beautiful place in a state of gradual disrepair. I also played my first two music gigs there, as a brand new performer. It is sad to see it in such a dilapidated condition. A wise investor could turn it into a wonderful and profitable hotel again, though it would obviously need a ton of TLC. 😢

Man... that's so sad. The left has really done a number on poor Baltimore. It's beginning to happen in my city (Montgomery, AL) as well. Taking places that were once prosperous, happy & safe and replacing it with squalor, misery, and detritivores. Wasn't Baltimore the first US city to have street lights that ran on natural gas? Excellent video, dude.

I realize that I've mentioned this before. But if there was one thing I could wish for, it would be that you guys wear hard hats inside structures like this one. It's bad enough that there might be live wires. But the ceiling damage is substantial. Amazon has hard hats for very low price. Anyway, thanks for another interesting exploration video. Keep up the good work and please stay safe.

We've lived in Jefferson Hills since 1996, this mall is where we spent every weekend with our kids. Watching this was so sad, it used to be amazing until they added bus stops😪and brought in the gangs. Sears was where our dentist & optician was, plus we got our family portraits & hair done in the salon. So there were 4 stores inside of the Sears itself. I got my nails done at Sassy's, took my kids to Game Stop & Hot Topic all the time. There used to be a KB toys on the lower level by Penneys in the late 90s. If you have any questions, I can answer.
